100 Years
This work combines a video projection on a large-scale painting. In its painterly composition, the painting references altarpieces and Madonna paintings from Italy and combines the motif with fragments from the Korean throne painting of the Joseon Dynasty. The film is about the last meeting of the 100-year-old Korean grandmother and mother of the artist. Both women tell about the experienced injustices under the patriarchy of the family - framed by the masked figure who observes, waits, listens.
