집 - how quickly leaving had been and how slow returning is
Installation view within the exhibition at the Kasseler Kunstverein 2025

This exhibition marks German-Korean artist Surya Suran Gied’s most expansive engagement with multimedia to date. Drawing on autobiographical fragments, her work focuses on reapproaching cultural origin and recalibrating identity—bypassing language altogether in favor of an unapologetically pictorial and sensory practice. In this spatial installation, painting, sculpture, video, and mnemonic objects converge into a tactile collage that deconstructs familiar narratives and opens space for a different, migration-shaped form of remembrance.
